Coconut Chutney
Coconut Chutney recipe is a popular
southern Indian chutney recipe that is called thenga chatni recipe.
We use coconut chutney for serving with southern Indian breads.
Ingredients for coconuts chutney recipe

270 g fresh gated coconut
-
3 1/2 green chopped medium-sized chilies
-
6 cloves chopped garlic
-
1 1/2 cm chopped ginger
-
3 1/4 tablespoons split Bengal gram (channa dal)

1/2 teaspoon salt
Seasoning for coconut chutney
-
1 teaspoon oil
-
1/4 teaspoon black mustard seeds
-
1/2 teaspoon husked blackgram dal (urad dal)
-
1-2 dried broken and de-seeded chilies
-
1/2 sprig curry leaves
-
pinch of asafoetida powder
How to make Coconut Chutney
-
blend the coconut and all the ingredients for coconuts chutney in a blender until coarse
-
set aside
-
heat oil and saute the seasoning for coconut chutney except the asafoetida powder
-
saute until mustard seeds start to pop
-
now add asafoetida powder as per the coconut chutney recipe
-
stir evenly and then take off the heat
-
mix in the coconut paste as per the coconut chutney recipe

your coconut chutney is ready for serving
