Ingredients for onion pickles recipe

  • 1.2 kg sliced onions

  • 250 ml mustard oil

  • 3 tablespoons black mustard seeds

  • 1 tablespoons chili powder

  • 1/2 tablespoon turmeric powder

  • 2 tablespoons vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 2 1/2 tablespoons dried mango powder

  • 16 fresh green chilies

  • 32 cloves peeled and left whole garlic

  • 1 tablespoons crushed ginger

  • 2 teaspoons crushed garlic

  • 1/2 teaspoon glacial acetic acid

  • pinch of sodium benzoate

  • 1 teaspoon salt

How to make Onion Mustard Pickle

  • heat oil to smoking point

  • set the oil aside to cool

  • blend the chili, mango powder, mustard seeds, salt, sugar, turmeric, vinegar to obtain paste

  • add paste and other ingredients to the earlier oil

  • stir evenly when making the mixture of onion pickle and mustard pickle

  • keep pickles in sterilized containers

  • make sure oil totally cover the mustard onion pickle

  • serve the mustard onion pickles after four weeks
