Recipe to make assorted nigiri

 

Assorted Nigiri recipe is a must-have sushi recipe if you are a sushi lover. Assorted nigiri recipe is known as nigiri-zushi recipe. Nigirizushi is made up of an oblong mound of sushi rice with a small quantity of wasabi that is pressed between the palms of the hands with a piece of seafood draped over the sushi rice. Ingredients for assorted nigiri sushi recipe

  • 18 g vinegared rice per nigiri

  • flounder

  • marinated mackerel

  • salmon

  • salmon roe

  • scallop

  • sea bass

  • sea bream

  • sea urchin

  • medium-sized squid

  • tamago

  • tiger prawn

  • tuna

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • pickled ginger

  • soy sauce

  • wasabi

How to make Assorted Nigiri Sushi

  • slice the tuna and salmon into 7 1/2 mm thick

  • slice the mackerel and white fish into 4 1/2 mm thick

  • slice scallop nearly in half lengthways but not completely so that one side stays attached

  • cook squid in boiling water for fifteen minutes with 2 teaspoons salt

  • take some vinegared rice in one hand

  • slowly close your hand without squashing the vinegared rice

  • shape the vinegared rice into a ball in the palm of your hand

  • place a slice of seafood in the palm of your other hand

  • place the vinegared rice ball on the seafood slice

  • while half closing your hand, press on the vinegared rice ball using the first two fingers of your now free hand as per the nigiri sushi recipe

  • press the sushi on all sides

  • stop only when the nigiri is well shaped and the vinegared rice holds together

  • lined the nigiri on a serving plate as per the nigiri recipe

  • the assorted nigiri which is made up of flounder nigiri, mackerel nigiri, salmon nigiri, salmon roe nigiri, scallop nigiri, sea bass nigiri, sea bream nigiri, sea urchin nigiri, squid nigiri, tamago nigiri, tiger prawn nigiri and tuna nigiri are ready to be served with pickled ginger, soy sauce and wasabi
